Ulice a kanály v meste sú takmer prázdne a kal vo vode sa tak mohol usadiť. Dôvodom sú zákazy, ktoré úrady vydali v súvislosti so šírením nového koronavírusu, informoval Bbc.com .
Obmedzenia v turistami obľúbenom meste pomáhajú pri znižovaní znečistenia. „Kanály sú určite čistejšie. Na vode nie je možné vidieť žiadne člny, doprava je zastavená,“ povedal pre BBC miestny obyvateľ Serguei Michchenko.
Pôvodnú správu o tom, že vo vyčistených benátskych kanáloch sa najnovšie preháňajú labute a dokonca aj delfíny, však National Geographic vyvrátil.
